"Heavy is the head that wears the crown" Ephemera: Nothing is permanent, flowers that bloomed will die in a matter of weeks, before the trees leaf out and shade them. Everything is passing and precious. No empire lasts forever, no dynasty continues unbroken. All that matters is whether we did what we could with the life that was given to us. Yudhishthira. Bheem. Arjun. Nakul. Sahadev. The five famous sons of pandu. An abandoned brother. An unprecedented sister. Traitors. A burning palace. Poison. Humiliation. Misconceptions. Betrayals. What if you had to pick between your siblings who would follow you to death or the love of your life? Who would you pick? Dhriti, the daughter of death. Draupadi, the daughter of fire. The dying embers of a fading fire. Fire and ash never mix, do they? But maybe, just maybe, they can change something and save the five brothers. Or will they scorch anything they touch? "I was ready to die for you, but never realized that it was you who will kill me." A traitor only becomes one if their plot is discovered. The imposition of guilt means nothing to those who feign loyalty. Then, with their own hand writing history, such traitors may wear the clothes of patriots. ~~~~ Join this beautiful journey of finding trust again, of reaching depths unknown, unrevealed truths being revealed, injustice at its perk, love turns to betrayal- an impact that ripples through time . For eternity is ephemeral at best. ~~~~~~ Cover by @Nightfall_21

Prativindhya, Aryavart's crowned prince, Sutasoma, the family's guardian, Shatanika, the valiant deputy commander, Shrutasena, the silent yet admired prince, and Shrutakarma, the youngest but bravest archer, faced betrayal and humiliation from their paternal Kaurava relatives. Meanwhile, Satyaki, envious of Prativindhya, plotted to usurp his position in favor of his stepbrother, Abhimanyu, adding to their trials of loyalty and honor.

Read on to know as they explore life together, as each other's support system & together accomplish the journey to becoming the greatest Samraat- Samragyi of all times. NOTE: While, there will not be any graphic content included here, the story does revolve around a mature theme that deals with the patriarchal idealogy of women being objects only meant to serve & please men. ******* Hey all! I'm here with a new book! Note: This story is inspired & has the characters from the masterpiece that is Mahabharat but not all plots match the epic. I have no intention of dishonouring any of the characters of the original great epic. This is but a peice of fiction meant for enjoyment. The credit of this stunningly beautiful banner goes to my dear sakhi @Yudhiiwrites😘

" Yadi aapki patni aapse kuch mange , toh aap denge Aarya? Mana toh nahi karenge na?" Her sweet melodious voice made his heart flutter like a young, naive teenager, not the calm man who had gained absolute control on his emotions. There was an almost awkward silence for a moment in the room that had been so beautifully decorated for their wedding night, before he spoke. It seemed he had nearly lost his voice, for it took far too much effort to speak up. " Mana toh nahi karunga, kintu de bhi kya sakta hoon...swayam ko praapt hui bhiksha ke atirikt..." His lashes were lowered, & he looked so sad that her heart clenched. He looked on in mild surprise when she lifted his hand where it was resting in his lap. She held his large, masculine, work-worn calloused palms in her soft, delicate ones. He nearly stopped breathing when her rosebud lips pressing sweet kisses against the skin in the centre of his open palm. Blood rushed to his cheeks, causing them to turn a rare shade of crimson much like hers.No woman had touched him like this before. " Uski koi avashyakta nahi hai, Aarya. Mere liye toh aapke hriday mein ek chota sa sthaan aur apna samast jeevan aapke saath bitaane ka avsar hi pariyapt hai." She told at him with a smile which sent his heart thundering , while she lost herself in the depth of those pools of molten copper. This beautiful cover for the story is created by my dear sakhi @Yudhiiwrites 🌹❣️ ********* I have always wondered, What if Draupadi chose Yudhishthir in her Swayamvar? That says it all....😉

A MAHABHARATA RETELLING ~~~ All the other flowers in the garden were brought up to envy the rose. Maybe shun it even. And admire it, too. Unusual ways. Too-red petals, too-sharp thorns, too-sweet fragrance. If only each flower did not have a mind of its own. If only stories were truly what one hand wrote them to be. If only the blood on every thorn was the fault of the rose and not that of the hunter. ~~~ Her breathing had suddenly halted as her eyes had accidentally landed on a piece of paper carelessly tucked under the lampholder on the bedside table. It looked like the work of a royal servant who had accidentally come across it while cleaning the room and then picked it up and tucked it away. She had carefully sat up and reached for it. The hot metal of the lampholder - like the one she had seen Draupadi seamlessly remove from a counter - had almost seared her palm, as she had hurriedly but carefully pushed it aside and retrieved the folded piece of what seemed like pearlescent paper. Touching it had felt like a grave invasion of privacy, but the curiosity that had suddenly roared and raced within her like a great river breaking free off a cliff. She had hurriedly unfolded the paper and had been greeted by a not-so-perfect handwriting and a volley of letters. It was a letter. A letter that looked like someone had ripped their heart out and presented it to someone on a piece of pearlescent paper. ~~~ WARNINGS: Scenes of intimacy and violence, possible hints of self-harm or similar intentions
