But as the century of 'uneasy peace' ended with the Colossal Titan smashing through the barriers of Shiganshina, before breaching Wall Maria as well, Esmeralda was entrusted with her mother's last wishes: Protect her hot-headed, reckless younger brother Eren, as well as his friends Mikasa and Armin. And so she did. Joining the Cadet Corps despite her weak constitution and her age; stood by him as so many others doubted his loyalty because of his powers; entered the Scout Regiment with him and in the process, meeting the infamous Captain of the Special Operations Squad. Levi Ackermann was his name. And as the two grew closer, drawn in by each other's many mysteries and secrets, hidden from the prying eyes of others, Esmeralda must make her decision.
