Katniss Everdeen is a middle class girl. Peeta Mellark is a rich boy. They hate each other. And they've known each other since kindergarden. Katniss doesn't want anything to do with Peeta, and Peeta doesn't want anything to do with Katniss. So what happens when Peeta's group of friends does like Katniss and wants her as their friend? Such different children, you would think they would hate each other when meeting. But no, they found friendship in one another's company the first day of grade school. Since then, they have grown together, fell secretly in love with each other, and have the most tragic things happen. Because of what? Jealousy? Enemies? A fight?
