In this story, Virin was never able to escape his prison in Katolis and has slowly gone mad by Aaravos' cruel whispers. As for Rayla and Callum, well... they were never quite able to figure out their relationship in Season 3 and so they stayed friends and let the angst build for two agonizing years!
