Some people believe in reincarnation, others don't. But past lives are real, as this group of teens in the 21st century will soon find out. For they are the reincarnates of people who lived a hundred years ago, in 1899. They keep having weird feelings of déjà vu; déjà vu that's increasing. As they struggle to navigate their lives as high schoolers, they search to find out who they were in the past, and what all of these things mean when it comes to their identity and who they are. None of these characters are mine. Rights go to Disney. The story idea and story alone are mine. Please, no homophobia, transphobia, slurs, profanities, hate, etc at all times.

"No! I am not in love with my best friend! Or his crush..." Albert trails off, blushing so much that his face now matches his hair. His two friends laugh. "Oh man, you are totally whipped." Finch responds, laughing. Albert groans, hiding his face in his hands. "I'm doomed." Albert spent his whole Newsie life hanging around his best friend, that was, until he caught feelings for said boy. The problem? His best friend probably isn't gay, and he caught feelings for his best friend's crush as well. To try to lose the feelings, Albert starts avoiding his best friend, but what if he looses his best friend instead? Or will he gain something? (Newsies is not mine, the storyline is though.) Part 1 takes place in the Canon Era, Part 2 is a Modern AU.

Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. Sorry about that, but since they aren't the main focus of this story anyways, hopefully you won't change your mind about reading this purely on that. - I made the cover using pictures off of the internet so credit to Google Images

Racetrack Higgins is many things: a newsie, a gambler, witty, and smart. And he also wasn't born a boy. He can count the number of people who know that fun fact on one hand. It's a struggle to live as a boy while trying to make sure no one knows where he came from. Luckily, he has Jack to help him--a guy who wasn't born a guy, just like him. And he has Spot, who he may or not have feelings for, and who may or may not have more in common with him than he thinks. But this world is dangerous for people like Race. So he just needs to stand tall, and find his place in this dangerous world. Please, no homophobia, transphobia, profanities, slurs, hate etc. I DON'T OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS. THEY ALL BELONG TO DISNEY. THIS STORY ALONE IS MINE.

In 1899, the streets of New York city echoed with the voices of newsies. Newsies--kids, teens. Kids who came from everywhere. Kids who didn't fit the gender binary. Kids who didn't love the way they were supposed to. Kids who didn't think the way they were supposed to. Every single one of them defied society's stereotypes against them. This is their story. I don't own Newsies. All rights go to Disney. Only this story and story alone is mine. Please, no homophobia, transphobia, slurs, hate, etc.

What if ... they were lovers? It's not easy for either of them. Come on, who wants to be selling newspapers with their ex? But then the prices rise, and everything changes. And now with the strike, they'll have to reevaluate everything: how they used to be, what went wrong ... and how they feel for each other now. Racetrack Higgins was a normal Manhattan Newsie- more or less. He was Gay, but so were all of his brothers. He was Jack's Second in Command and had a rough past. He was stubborn, has anxiety, and is a good bit chaotic. Spot Conlon was not a normal Newsie. He was the King of Brooklyn, the Borough feared by most. Except for Race. (And a few others.) Said Italian blonde boy was actually a half Brooklyn, half Manhattan Newsie, as he sold in Brooklyn. Sure, Spot scared him sometimes, but not a lot. They were very different. Spot had brown hair, Race had dirty blonde. Race had been to the Refuge, Spot hadn't. Spot had brown eyes, Race had bright blue eyes. Race was strong, but easily outnumbered, Spot was strong, but wasn't easily outnumbered. One think they both agreed was that they cared for their boys more than anything and would do anything to keep them safe. Oh, that and that the other was cute. Or hot, depending on if you were Spot or Race. ~~ Excerpt from the Story ~~ "Hey, Race." Ace starts, picking up his cards every time Race passes one to him. Race hums, passing a card to Sling, then himself, and then Ace. "Do you have a crush on Spot?" Ace asks, still staring at his cards. Sling hides his smile with his cards in front of his face, stifling a laugh. "No." Race answers, his face reddening slightly as he passes out another card to each boy. Ace looks up at him. "BS." He responds, smirking. Race scowls at him, pulling his hat off of his head and smacking Ace with it, all while his face turns bright red. Ace and Sling laugh. ~~ ~~ (I do not own Newsies.) "Did you just make Spot Conlon smile?" "Yeah. I think I might've." - Soon after the strike, things are getting back to normal. Kind of. Well, not really. It seems like everyone's keeping a secret, and sometimes it seems like nobody's safe. The Newsies can't turn on each other now, can they? //COMPLETED// Highest rankings: #1 on Sprace #1 on Javie and Javid #1 on newsies of New York #1 on Racetrack Higgins #4 on musicals
