It's a long road ahead of them; but for MacCready it has been long enough. He has to betray his travelling companion - his partner - to the Gunners at some point...but he has to do it soon. Time is running out, and Winlock and Barnes are beginning to grow impatient.

The Winchesters join forces with the Minutemen to find Castiel and save the General, only nothing goes according to plan. The Commonwealth is a dangerous, irradiated land, and Dean, charmed by the Brotherhood of Steel's stance on monsters, goes off-book. With Brotherhood fanaticism and Minutemen suspicions threatening this mission, Sam must keep it together for the sake of getting home. And maybe, just maybe, also keep a certain journalist from publishing the whole story.
