Nezu:
I noticed it because it was polite.
Systems usually scream when they are touched improperly-latency spikes, clumsy probes, the digital equivalent of muddy footprints across a clean floor. This intrusion did none of that. It adjusted itself to my infrastructure as if it were a guest wiping their shoes at the door.
That intrigued me.
The data shift was minor, almost courteous, correcting an imbalance rather than exploiting it. No attempt to escalate access. No curiosity-driven overreach. Whoever did this wasn't hunting power-they were fixing something.
That was when I slowed everything down.
I isolated the behavior instead of the code, watched how choices were made rather than where they landed. The pattern repeated months later, cleaner, sharper, more confident.
A child, I realized then.
Learning.
Not to steal.
But to care.
And that, more than any alarm, told me I had found someone dangerous in the best possible way.
