With the exception of Mirabella Plunkett in the 1800s, the idea of merfolk and wizarding kind mingling together was unheard of, and otherwise, considered to be taboo. Born to a mermaid and wizard, Nixie Dover is believed to be the first of her kind, half-landish, half-seavish. The morning of her birth, things go awry when her mother is suddenly taken away and forced into exile by seavish matriarchy, leaving her to be raised by her father alone on land. For the next eleven years, Nixie is raised as a witch, however, life is far from simple. For as long as she can remember, the waters outside of her home call to her. Her father seems drawn to the waves as well, staring at them every morning as if he is waiting for someone. However, the answers start to unravel when her mother reappears and reveals herself to be a mermaid. Suddenly, the stares and whispers that Nixie has heard throughout her childhood make sense. She is a half-breed, stuck between two worlds where she feels like an outsider. To add to the chaos, Nixie receives her acceptance letter to none other than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Determined to blend in and hopefully make some friends, Nixie attempts to hide her lineage, but she can only hide who she really is for so long. Especially when a boy by the name of Sirius Black seems so utterly determined to be part of her world. Initially, Nixie believes him to be nothing but trouble, but as time progresses, he proves to be much more than a troublemaker. Together, they must face the hardships of growing up, fighting for what they believe in, and hopefully, surviving a war. [Book 1 of Nixie Dover] [Companion book to Tightly Knit] [Cover by cendriia]

Surrounded by adults for much of her upbringing, Anora is initially quite nervous about interacting with peers of her own age. But with her feline companion, Iggy, at her side, she embarks on her own journey. Along the way, she meets Charlie Weasley, a boy whose hair is as red as her hair is white. There were some things in life that even magic couldn't heal and for Zakari Ollivander, being deaf was not something that he wanted to be "healed" of anyways. Never considering himself disabled, Zakari considered himself just to be slightly different growing up. He still enjoyed partaking in activities that other children his age were involved in, even if he had to find his own way to do them. It was a challenge sometimes, but Zakari was always up for a challenge. As the grandson of a famous wandmaker, Zakari's biggest challenge yet would come to the young boy when he receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Without knowing him, people were quick to pass their judgement, believing the boy would struggle and calling it a waste of time trying to teach magic to a boy who couldn't hear and hardly spoke. However, Zakari sets himself out to prove that just because he was hard of hearing, didn't mean he didn't have anything to say. It was everyone else around him that needed to learn how to listen.
