Giving birth is not a crime-but society makes sure it feels like one the moment a woman delivers a daughter instead of a son. The moment she gives birth to daughters instead of "at least one boy," her worth is dragged through the dirt and questioned, as if she alone is responsible for fate itself. In such a society, a woman is reduced to a single role: to satisfy her husband and function like a machine meant only to produce children, preferably male heirs. Love, respect, and dignity become conditional-tied not to who she is, but to what she can produce. And when her womb gives the "wrong" result, she is blamed, shamed, and broken piece by piece. A girl is treated like a burden; no matter how strong, brilliant, or worthy she is, she is never enough simply because she is not born with XY chromosomes. Meanwhile, a boy is glorified as the one destined to rule the world, to carry forward the family name, and to embody pride and power. And so, a woman is punished for something that was never her fault-condemned not by biology, but by the cruelty of society.

It was Gulaal's first day after marriage. After completing her Teej fast and rituals, she entered her husband's room-only to see her husband with another woman. CM Rana Sarvagya Singh Shekhawat was on the bed, holding his girlfriend in his arms. The sight shocked Gulaal so much that the puja thali slipped from her hands. Hearing the noise, Sarvagya and his girlfriend turned to look at her. "You-you are the same girl whom Sarvagya bought for himself?" His Girlfriend Damisha, staring at Gulaal's frightened face, continued mockingly, "Why, does it hurt to see another woman in your husband's arms? Actually, this Rana-sa isn't really a husband at all..." Hearing her, Gulaal's anger flared. Looking straight at her husband, she said bitterly: "I don't even consider a man who goes around sleeping here and there as a man. Such a person is called a dog." Saying this, she walked away to her own room where the servants also lived. She went to remove her jewelry at the table-when suddenly, she realized someone had closed the door behind her. Before she could even turn around, someone grabbed her by the waist and pressed their lips hard against hers.

#𝟓 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 They said grief changes people. But I remember when I looked at him, he didn't look broken. He looked awakened. Like a man who had finally found a reason to breathe again. Unfortunately, that reason was me. There's nothing loud about him. Forget raising his voice he barely speaks unless he has to. He just watches quietly, like a wolf waiting for its prey to stop running. When a man like him decides you're his, he doesn't need to say a word. He didn't have to touch me to make me feel trapped. He just had to look. And maybe that's what chains really are...not metal or rope, but the slow suffocation of being seen, claimed, and never asked if you wanted to be free. If the girl I was four years ago had seen who I am today, she would have laughed at herself, completely unaware that one day she would herself say that: Arhaan Mirza is my fate, my curse, my damnation and the chains of desire my soul refuses to break free from. ~ Arhaan X Eyana
