"Papa left us today. And I know he won't be coming back." Sometimes, nursery rhymes have their end. This is a short story I wrote for my Communication Studies CAPE SBA. There are parts written in Broken English, but it is easy to pick up on. I hope you enjoy.

"There's been an accident." To be honest, those are not the first words I want to hear. I'm a grown man, and I can handle shit pretty easily. But nothing sets my heart in a frenzy when I hear something like this. "Is Claire alright?" The thought of my fiancée's broken body nearly gave me heart failure. I heard the eyebrow raised on the other end. "It isn't her...It's Maya." If any bad news about my fiancée almost killed my heart, then any bad news about the woman I once loved would.
