"Do you know what I really hate about ninety percent of YA heroines?" Kitty glared at me. "I hate how they always, always keep turning down the guy. I mean, come on! This amazing, gorgeous DREAMBOAT of a guy practically begs you to date him, and you're like... oh, no! My Mary Sue self is not good enough for you! Please, please forget me, Mr. Dreamboat, so you can keep looking for your one true love." I cringed. "Aren't we getting a little ars-poetic here...? But Kitty was on a roll. "No. That would be: Sharlene Kowalskie is not your average nineteen-year-old girl. Despite her tragic past-" "Ugh. I can't listen to this. Please," I begged her. "Please stop. Before I throw up!"

[ unedited ] Katrina Shaymin has never exactly been It-Girl material, which became even more apparent after her best friend of eight years, Colette Atriana, left her for popularity when they were freshmen. Since then, Katrina has been able to get her life back on its' feet, and finally, she feels can be happy. The summer before senior year, she proposes an idea to transform the perfect It-Girl to get back at Colette, knowing this will be no small feat. However, her whole plan is rocked off it's feet as new problems begin arise. Can she handle crumbling friendships, mysterious letters from a hidden enemy, her missing parents, a boy she's befriended online, retaining her spot as valedictorian and find a way to get her the plan back on track? Maybe to solve all this, Katrina just needs to get unplugged. © stelliferousky 2016
