(Preferable no one reads this until editing is complete. Thank you.) Mystery. Suspense. Thriller. Romance. Keelea Rivers is your average teenager just trying to get through school. She has never considered her life a struggle; with life-long friends, reasonable grades, and a tight-knit family, Keelea is satisfied in the direction her life is heading. In her childhood town of Easton, nothing terrible ever seems to happen within the small community—until the body of Tamara Smith is found brutally murdered, a black rose pinned to her chest. The citizens soon erupt in an uproar as more bodies are discovered over the period of months. No one expected a serial killer to run loose within their once peaceful town. The people of Easton are now in fear of their life; curfews are set to protect their safety, the police force have expanded from a small station to a vastly growing squad—with more power, more investigators and extensive amount of hours, no piece of evidence is left unturned as they try to protect their townspeople. It soon becomes apparent that the serial killer has a fascination with young woman who have blonde hair. Keelea's once ordinary and secure life soon comes crashing down as her very existence is threatened. Why? Because Keelea has blonde hair... And she's next on The Black Rose Killer's list.

The Living Works of the Black Rose Killer is a series of poems written about a serial killer who sends his victims a warning before taking their lives; this warning is in the form of a bouquet of roses. The bouquets contain both red and black roses, red for days and black for souls. After killing he places the black roses in each of his victim's chest wounds, where their hearts used to be.
