Molly McGee is an optimistic, funny and full-of-spirit 16-year-old Irish-Thai-American girl who loves to make the world a better place for everyone. However, Libby Stein-Torres is more introverted. She is shy, smart, sweet, funny and sometimes has trouble speaking for herself. Libby is a young Jewish girl and is best friends (later girlfriend) with Molly. In an alternate universe where Molly lived in Brighton her whole life, she attended her first day of school where she defended a girl named, Libby from being bullied by Andrea. From that moment on, Molly and Libby became best friends, but they would eventually develop romantic feelings for each other when they reach middle school and realize that they could become something more.

What if Jinx managed to kill Molly at the end of The Jig is Up? When Molly's life came to a sudden end, her ghost paid Libby a visit to confess her love for her best friend like she wasn't able to do when she was alive. Much to Molly's surprise, Libby feels the same way about her and when the two of them become girlfriends, Molly would soon realize that the end isn't truly the end.
