He can't keep a good, safe, consistent relationship with the love of his life, Gwen Stacy, and when she almost dies, Peter feels guilty and breaks up with Gwen yet again. Gwen goes on with her life, leaving for Oxford. Then, Spider-Man is faced with more supervillains. As he fights them off, a few people discover his true identity. Peter then struggles with the new emptiness in his heart, something only Gwen can fill. But of course, there is always a black cloud before the silver lining. Peter's powers start to take over him, causing him an illness that can only be cured by revealing his identity as spiderman.
