The year on earth is 1929, and Stolas, the Goetian prince, has encouraged Lucifer to visit earth for the first time since he'd helped out with the creation of it millennia ago. There, Lucifer meets Alastor at a bar and takes an immediate liking to him. Lucifer and Stolas strike a contract together, and now Lucifer is able to use the Grimoire on occasion to meet with Alastor in the human realm. However, as the time passes, both men begin to learn more about each other, and how much they truly hide under their metaphorical masks.
