Flares. Nasty, hellishly blazing creatures that roam freely across this planet. A planet that was made for man and only man itself. Its unknown, 10 years ago, where these beasts come from. They were not recorded in any sort of present mythology or history records of those before. Only then, did they choose to reveal themselves. The problem up to now is obvious. We could not beat them. For up to 10 years these beasts have slain and torched man, woman and child from every single fort, castle, village or town that they came across. Until today. Phoenix born, Special children. Rare children that started popping up when birth rates were on the decline. These children wielded powers similar to those of the flares. They could wield both weapons and fire within their hands. An advantage, given only to us by unknown gods. An academy was formed, on the farthest away continent that was ever located, but never settled upon. However only the shorelines were deemed hospitable by those who went. This would be the best place for these "phoenix born" to learn, to fight...and to survive. *Authors note* The characters whose names end in the names of each season, is a running joke. It was brought up to me by a certain commenter who I am good friends with.
