It all starts with the end. Minho accuses him of theft, giving Jisung a fourteen day deadline to either find and give back the cocaine, pay an impossible debt, or take the mysterious third option which, Jisung assumes, has to mean death. In his desperate quest for a way out, Jisung stumbles through a waking nightmare: unexpected connections between Minho and people he thought he could trust, mysterious news articles, abandoned mansions, crime scenes, black-tie parties, chaebol gossip, mafia families, escaping gunfire on the back of Minho's motorcycle. But every single path only leads him back to the night he lost the drugs, and to unanswerable questions: What the hell happened to the two bricks of cocaine? Why can't he remember losing them? Jisung was quiet and reserved. Comfortable in his life as an elementary school teacher. But one of the downsides of his job was the pay- it wasn't enough. In order to keep the house he worked hard for, he's forced to search for a roommate. Enter Minho, a kind uncle by day and an underground boxer by night. And a man looking for a place to live. They find a way to be the perfect roommates, and with their differing schedules, it's easy to live around each other. But eventually their mutual interest grows. The only time life isn't pulling them in opposite directions is between the time Jisung returns home and when Minho leaves-- just before sunset. Before long, sunset becomes Jisung's favorite time of day.

Tensions were already high in the palace of Brinevale Kingdom, but when the Crown Prince, Jisung is targeted by an assassin, that tension cracks. Upon stopping the assassin, he learns his own father, the king, hired the killer- and everything crumbles. In a moment of need, Jisung forces the mysterious assassin to help him escape the castle- and eventually fight his way back to the throne. Through this unique journey, trust is tested, bonds stretch, and love creates a tie impossible to break- but a tie that could destroy everything.

Han Jisung- a sweetheart, an accountant, an introvert with one friend. He belonged nowhere near the underground world of crime thriving under the shadows of the city. Sudden circumstances said otherwise. Lee Minho- a gangster with a dark past and scars to show for it, cold hearted and rough. He belonged to the shadows, learned how to control them. Tricked by his shitty boyfriend, Jisung takes the fall for a drug exchange gone wrong. But he finds one spark of luck within the pile of unlucky ashes he is buried in- a gangster offers him mercy--- and so much more as he falls into the world of violence and crime. Growth, flaring tempers, deep emotions, and most of all- a sprout, a hope, for love. Their entanglement would change everything within themselves. For better? Or for worse? Only time will tell.
