For five months, Lucy Chen has lived a lie inside the walls of Mid-Wilshire. Her two-year-old daughter, Iris Elizabeth, is introduced as her little sister-a half-truth meant to protect Lucy from revealing the abusive relationship that changed her life forever. The station believes it. Her friends believe it. Even Tim Bradford, her boyfriend, believes it. Iris knows the rules too. She knows not to call Lucy mama at the station. Until one small slip threatens to unravel everything. When a call from daycare shatters Lucy's carefully built walls, the truth comes out in the one place she never expected: a janitor's closet, with Tim standing in front of her-shocked, furious, and fiercely protective. Because Tim Bradford doesn't walk away. And he sure as hell doesn't let Lucy handle this alone.

Lucy almost got a heart attack when, while waiting for Tim in the men's locker room, found a leather-bound notebook with the word "Bradford" written on the cover. She couldn't believe it, her hard-ass T.O. Tim Bradford had been keeping a diary. And her curiosity was killing her. Little did she know, what she would find written inside... I don't own these The Rookie characters, but I do own the plot.

Tim, a strict and grumpy LAPD officer finds himself training a rookie that he first met in a brothel. Things get pretty heated. Do you all remember the amazing writer Starryylake? I do too. This is basically a remake of one of her stories, because she took her account down.

Big city model Lucy has had enough of flashing cameras, fake smiles, and a life that doesn't feel like hers anymore. So she escapes to a quiet little town, buys a fixer-upper, and vows to start fresh. The only problem? Her "charming" new house is one strong breeze away from falling apart. Enter Tim-a grumpy, old-school contractor who'd rather be working with his hands than dealing with a big-city runaway who has no idea which end of a hammer to hold. He's well-loved around town, has a knack for fixing just about anything (including the occasional car in his garage), and absolutely did not sign up to have his peaceful life turned upside down by a glamorous stranger. But as sparks fly between arguments and drywall, Lucy and Tim might just discover that love can show up where you least expect it... even on a construction site.
