After the defeat of Muzan, peace finally returns to the Demon Slayer Corps. With their swords set aside, the surviving Hashira attempt to build normal lives from the ruins of war. Among them, Shinobu Kocho and Giyu Tomioka-once comrades hardened by bloodshed-find solace in each other and start a family. They raise twins: Hitari, who helps Shinobu tend to patients at the Butterfly Mansion, and Hokaru, who trains under Giyu to master Water Breathing.
But even in times of peace, shadows linger. Hokaru struggles with his father's quiet intensity, striving to prove himself as a worthy swordsman. Meanwhile, Hitari dreams of tending to the sick, like her mother, but struggles to herbs and anatomy. That yearning changes everything the day she awakens ice powers-a terrifying echo of the Upper Rank Two demon, Dōma, whom Shinobu once fought and Giyu killed.
Terrified of hurting her mother, who suffers deep scars and PTSD from that battle, Hitari hides her abilities. Yet her secret grows darker: with each passing night, villagers are found dead, their bodies mangled as if devoured by a demon. The signs all point to something impossible-could Shinobu's own daughter be slipping into the hunger of the enemy they fought so hard to destroy?
Now, the Tomioka family stands at a fragile crossroads. Giyu must decide if he will shield his daughter or confront the horrifying truth. Shinobu is forced to face the ice-bound past she tried to bury. And the Hashira, once united to defeat Muzan, may be torn apart by a new, intimate war-one born not from demons, but from within.
