We weren't really the type of people who were supposed to mix. In fact, Phil was the type of person who was supposed to make fun of me, and I was the kind of person who was supposed to scoff at his life choices. We weren't supposed to become friends. He's always too afraid to say anything and would rather stay in the background and get through high school and go to university.
