In 2017, the Island of Sodor was struck by something quite unexpected. Interestingly, no physical records of this event were kept due to a variety of circumstances... except for one. {Authors' Note} Here it finally is... the long awaited rewrite of a remaster that I don't really like. Ya know, at first I wasn't planning on doing something like... this. I thought it was too broken to be repaired, and I was initially just going to expand upon the original... but that idea quickly fell through the cracks. (Mainly due to it... not being very good.) It was only after I thought about it for more than 2 seconds that I found a solution, and I decided it would be best if I just wrote out my response to "how would I fix Eclipse: Remastered" rather than just explain how I'd fix it by rewriting the whole story and giving it a proper ending. So, here's my answer everyone! Enjoy reading! (Though I will just say this for the record: I still think OG Eclipse is better.) The Island of Sodor, that was formerly a home to many sentient friendly engines, becomes wiped away because of one virus that started an apocalypse. So James the Red Engine and his crew fight their ways through the apocalypse, will they make it out alive or not?

Ah yes, the Island of Sodor... such a beautiful place off the coast of Barrow-In Furness... full of countrysides, hills and valleys, as well as several railway lines that it's most known for of course. Specifically the standard gauge line running from coast to coast known as the North Western Railway, or NWR for short. Home to Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. That was too good of an opportunity to pass up, and yes I am saying this within the story itself. As we all know, Railway operations must keep to tune and schedule, regardless of goods or passengers. Otherwise, there would be nothing but, you guessed it, confusion and delay. Usually it goes smoothly and trains are kept to time and schedule. However, there are a few things that can throw a wrench into that sort of thing. You might of course think of the troublesome truck, which... that's fair, you're not wrong in thinking that. I was just thinking of Mother Nature, specifically winter when she takes a wild gamble whether it snows or not... AND THEN ANOTHER ONE to see how high it can pile up, AND THEN ANOTHER ONE to see how much it'll stick, AND THEN- okay, you get the idea. Though in Sodor's case, and I'm talking about Sodor specifically, there would be one winter in particular that would give the North Western Railway a bit more than snow to deal with, as things would get... a little weird, shall we say? A new company makes a deal with Sir Topham to have his railway transport their tankers around the Island. However, Oliver quickly grows fed up with it, while Duck gets suspicious about what the tankers are carrying. It all comes to a head when a massive explosion occurs at the Harbor, causing the chemicals to leak all over the Western side of Sodor. Now, it's up to Oliver and everyone else he meets to save survivors on Sodor. Will they succeed? Find out!
