A balloon, a bright red one is caught in one of the branches from the thin tree in front of my house. It was obviously deflated, the plastic covered almost the whole branch including leaves. I looked at it curiously, attached to the balloon was a small, yellow stained envelope. The weather was cold, goosebumps started to form on the skin patches of both my arms, the breeze immediately flew through my black shirt which didn't provided any warmth at all. I stopped in front of the tree, that was only a few metres away from the door. In the corner was a stamp, that was way over the date, 1998. In big bold letters, it said, Dear no one. ******************************************* Heya! Small note, there is a possibility that you'll find mistakes in this story, the order of some of the events are placed incorrect, some happened in a completely different year, some things didn't happen at all. Dan is different from other seniors in high school. His lips always in a tight line, staring at nothing in particular with a blank expression. He pushes himself away from the world, not because he's scared of getting hurt by the horrible thing called society, but because he doesn't care. Sadly, he also doesn't have a choice. What Dan possesses is Invulnerability, the power of not feeling emotionally, physically, or spiritually. He's been this way for as long as he can remember and isn't bothered by it. All is normal until Phil moves to town. Phil is the most open minded and caring being that Dan has ever met. Phil is loved and much more social, which is quite the opposite for Dan, who isn't fazed by this fact. Slowly, the closeted Phil unravels Dan, revealing a side of him that neither of them would have expected. What they both don't know is that the familiarity of their lives will be twisted far beyond their comprehension.

Dan is the popular kid at his school. He can have any girl he wants. But then Phil started in his class and everything changed. Now he doesn't want any girl. He wants Phil. But it's tough hiding that you're in love. And it's tough when jealousy takes over. Will they make it?
