Sorella Divaan - the second and youngest daughter of Keir - was born for one reason: to fulfill an alliance. She's used to being quiet and invisible, lest she incur the wrath of her father. And at seventeen years old she is sold off in an arranged marriage to the heir to the Autumn Court, Eris Vanserra. She's heard grim tales about her new husband, but as she gets to know the male behind the mask, Sorella discovers that sometimes the things you didn't choose are the things you come to treasure the most. _____ "Worried about me, sunshine?" he smirked, and the arrogance of it was so at odds with his tender touches. "Yes." I didn't deny it. I said exactly what I thought. "Yes, Eris Vanserra. I worry about you when you're not right here with me, and I'll sure as hell worry about you when you go off to literal war." All arrogance fell away and in its place was an affection I never expected to see when I first married this male out of threats and obligation. He swallowed. "Damnit, Sorella. How is it you made me care so much about someone other than myself?" "I didn't. You have always cared about everyone so damn much and hide it behind indifference and cruelty and sly schemes so others won't know how big your heart truly is." Eris reached up and cradled the back of my head with his hand, then brought his forehead to mine. "You have me all figured out, don't you?" I sucked in a breath. Our mouths were so close. Too close and not close enough. "Like you said, I'm very observant," I said hoarsely. My voice had never sounded like that before, but Eris had this way of making me be bold, different, and more...myself. Deep in my chest, somewhere in my very soul, that little flame kicked to life and flared hotter with each too-fast beat of my heart. Eris's pupils expanded, the black almost completely swallowing the burning amber.

The Riders Quadrant at Basgiath War College is the most boasted quadrant of them all. Also the most deadly. Kathrine Riorson has known for five years that this is where she'd end up, thanks to a desperate bargain made by her older brother the day their father was executed. Thrust into this new world where brutality and strength reign supreme right along side the giant fire-breathing dragons, Kitt will have to navigate through Conscription Day and Threshing. Through old memories and still-healing wounds. Through new friendships and new love. All the while an evil lurks just beneath the surface, threatening to destroy everything she has come to cherish. Kitt will be faced with demons both in the flesh and within her own mind. But Kitt is a Riorson. And she will not break easily. _____ "Anyone else feel like changing their mind?" Xaden shouts, casting his gaze out over the remaining cadets. "No? Excellent. Roughly half of you will be dead by this time next summer. A third of you again the year after that. And the same your last year." He briefly catches my gaze before moving on. "No one cares who your mommy or daddy is here." Unless your mommy or daddy sided with my father, then everyone cares. "Even King Tauri's second son died during his Threshing. So tell me again: Do you feel invincible now that you've made it into the Riders Quadrant? Untouchable? Elite?" This time no one cheers. "Because you're not untouchable or special to them." Xaden points a finger at the navy-blue dragon behind him and leans forward slightly, and says, deadly calm, "To them, you're just the prey." I swallow the lump in my throat. He's trying to scare us, they all are, so the dragons know who to pick off. But I will not let any of them win. I may not have had a choice in coming to the Riders Quadrant, but now that I'm here, the only way I'm leaving is on the back of a dragon.

This is a part 2 of another fan fiction I wrote called A Court of Night and Starlight. This story follows the events of the first story, so if you haven't read that one, I would recommend doing so before starting this, because it won't make much sense on its own. Nyx can't stop thinking about the human female that helped him and his sister, Amaris, escape the Spring Court. It's been three months. And still his thoughts wander to the beautiful, strong, and fiery female. But when tensions rise between the Courts, he may find himself brought closer to Emaline than he ever planned. But is she willing to brave the growing darkness that is rising within him? Can Nyx find comfort in knowing Emaline will never run from...whatever it is that he's becoming? Amaris wants to be there for her brother, but it's hard when he won't talk to her. After what happened in the Spring Court, she and Nyx have become closer. So why, despite all of that, does it feel like Nyx keeps pushing her away? ***Discontinued***
