Dys • ar • thri • a difficult or unclear articulation speech that is otherwise linguistically normal - Doubt it? How do you know this blossoming friendship won't turn into something more? Cuz that kind of stuff only happens in Wattpad books. Someone texting or calling the wrong number, they fall in love, meet in person, confess their undying love for each other, happily ever after, the end. Too cliché. Even for me. - Gracie Summers was born with a brain injury which led to dysarthria. She hardly every spoke to anyone outside her family, and even then, she used short sentences. When she receives a text from the wrong number, will she develop feelings for him or succumb to the threats from the girl whose number he was supposed to text that night? {EDITED COMPLETE BY ME / @JULIE_PROOFEDIT } Word count // 20,000 Word count (after editing) // 50,000+ #15 / 26.1K stories in 'truestory' tag {7/21/2022} #1 / 44.5K stories in 'nonfiction' tag {5/17/22} #1 / 302K stories in 'shortstory' tag {5/27/22} #1 / 168K stories in 'call' tag {8/6/22} #1 / 132K stories in 'short' tag {6/8/22} #1 / 186K stories in 'comedy' tag {7/21/24} #8 / 238K stories 'funny' tag {7/22/24}

"Is this...the...suicide hotline?" "I...um, yes?" "...Are you asking or telling?" "...Telling?" "What would you do if I told you I wanted to die?" "I would beg you not to." "Would you, stranger? Would you really?" "I would." Aurora Glass was raised in a sleepy town, completely sheltered from the darker things in life. That's why she doesn't know how to react when she gets a call from a man looking for a suicide hotline. Out of fear he'll actually commit suicide if he doesn't get help immediately, she lies and pretends to be a hotline worker. Parker Hollowell is on the edge. He's slipping into the void, but unlike some he's aware of it. In a desperate attempt to save his own life, he calls a suicide hotline. The woman on other end sounds very sketchy and suspiciously young. Not that it matters. He's just glad someone pretends to care about his life and his problems. When a cynical, depressed man unintentionally lets a bubbly, optimistic woman into his life, he has no choice but to bend to her will and see that maybe, there was more to life then he thought.
