This follows the Midlink ship at the time of Midna's throne being taken over by Usurper King Zant. Link goes through both light and darkness, and defeats the unrightful king. While the victory is all well and good for Hyrule, he has to face a much larger challenge after.

The long journey that she and Link had faced together had come to an end. When it is time to return to her own world, she says her goodbyes, then makes a decision for the good of both worlds. "I... I'll see you later" she says as she returns to the Twilight, breaking the only connection between worlds, the Mirror of Twilight.

It's been 2 years since Ganon was defeated. Hyrule was being rebuilt, Link was an honored knight, and Midna went back to ruling the Twilight. Even though the mirror shattered, they still think about each other often. Will they ever meet again? The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Fanfiction constructive criticism is appreciated :) this is MY IMAGINATION of what could possibly happen if they meet again. but, the midlink will probably over exaggerated or not exactly what I think, since this is focused on midlink.
