From chapter 6+, it's my own work. --- Hugo and Varian are dating, when suddenly Hugo wakes up in the middle of the night to Varian floating and glowing - a sight he had only seen once before, when he got possessed by Ulla. Being worried, he tells Varian when he wakes up. They decide they need to go free Ulla, properly this time. But who will they encounter? And what if Varian can't be saved? All of these thoughts race through Hugo's mind as he plans to propose to Varian. Doubt races his mind, as what if Varian says no? And Varian is also worried, what if he levitates again? And Hugo seems to be acting weird, but Varian can't help. He loves the blonde, and is worried for him. On their way to Tonitrua, they struggle to decide if it's worth it. What else might happen to them?

Thousands of years into the future of humanity. We've left Earth and made our home in the stars, colonizing the galaxy. Just about everything is controlled by the Alliance and the wealthier core planets, though there are some who have tried to resist this control. Hugo couldn't care less about these politics as long as he has his ship and an open sky of stars to fly it in. Then Varian stows away on his ship and life gets much more complicated WARNING: This AU has more mature themes and content than my other story! This includes Explicit language, violence and blood, trauma, torture, minor character death and implied sex.

This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way. I'll likely take a lot of inspiration from other fans too and I think that's what's great about vat7k, we all inspire each other with our ideas! :) This is probably gonna be a long one, hope you enjoy!! Basically I've been obsessed with this AU for many months and I wanted to make stuff for it, so this is it. I'll hopefully write my take on the full story someday, but for now this is what I'm working on. It's been two years since the defeat of Zhan Tiri. Varian spends peaceful life in Old Corona and occationally travelling to the capitol to see his friends and for his duties as a royal engineer. After everything that had happened Varian can't but feel little out of place and uncertain of who he should be. Then he gets an old journal from his father as a 18th year gift. Varian leaves Corona to find himself. He tries to find out what happened to his mother, who suddenly vanished in her research journey. Varian makes new friends and few enemies on his way to find the truth about his mother. Basically my version of Varian and the seven kingdoms and what I think could've happened.
