Her father is the sheriff who likes the young man. The reader flirts with Daryl but Daryl sees her as a girl who is younger then him and knows he needs to stay away even if he thinks shes beautiful. One day he calls her a child and her being stubborn and having a short temper just like he does she tries to prove to him that shes not a child. five years later the outbreak happens and her father gets bit and Daryl ends up saving her.

You and Daryl have known each other since highschool. After that, you've been inseparable. And though she may have been a city kid, she was far from useless.
