If there was ever to be one thing that were true, it would be that Umeko was not meant to exist. Umeko was an Air-Bender, born a century after the extinction of the Air Nomads and courtesy to the Fire Nation...The same Nation Umeko was born into, and the same Nation Umeko fought for in the war. But it didn't matter that Umeko was Fire Nation as an Air-bender, and also was a Lieutenant in the army, because if she told naught a soul, then nothing would ever happen. It didn't matter that the overwhelming urge to just twirl a little bit of air consumed almost every waking thought of Umeko's day. It didn't matter that were hunting the Avatar -and air bender originally himself with none other than the Prince of the Fire Nation. And it didn't matter that the infamous Dragon to the West was also on board. And it didn't matter that Prince Zuko was strangely good looking...wait -what?
