[COMPLETE] Time is a funny thing; the past, the future; it's all mixed up. Adam Coker lives and works in New York, and he's on a short vacation to visit his family in Ibadan after 9 years of being away from them, after the traumatic death of his twin brother, Sam. Simi is a Nigerian bred, independent and upcoming singer in Abuja. Her music brings her to Ibadan for a music festival at the same time as Adam where they walk into each other. After her performance she chooses to stay for a short break in Ibadan and Ada, her manager slash friend sets her up to live with her childhood friend, Tiara. It's a shock when she finds out Tiara who later becomes her friend is Adam's sister and they have to live together in the same house for some days, across from each other. Different events, characters and secrets unfold, the past is revisited, undeniable sparks fly around between Simi and Adam, bodies meet, hearts dance, blah blah... the rest is history ... ...well, until reality sets and it's time to return to their separate ways, worlds apart.

I hate how much I want him even now. "You're just jealous." "Of course I am." His voice is rough. "I'm jealous of every second he gets with you." I swallow hard. "Jamal is gay. I could never see him as anything but my boss." Nonso stills. Then a short, disbelieving breath escapes him. "You really believe that?" The question hangs between us like smoke. He doesn't wait for an answer. Instead, he kisses me...deep, demanding, claiming. My hands fist in his shirt before I can stop them. When we break apart, both of us breathing hard, he rests his forehead against mine. "If Jamal is really gay..." His fingers trace my hip. "...then I have nothing to worry about." I study his face, heart still racing. "No. We're not doing this anymore." (excerpt from Chapter 84) ***** Hadassah's life takes a drastic turn when she lands a job as Jamal Orji's personal assistant and fell in love with a sexy investor. But as she delves deeper into Jamal's world of wealth and mystery, she finds herself entangled with Nonso in a web of secrets and forbidden desires. With her friends Nina and Tega by her side and her own past haunting her every step, Hadassah must navigate the treacherous waters of love, betrayal, and self-discovery in Lagos, a city where nothing is as it seems.
