James is a boy with blue eyes and small body. He has no one because his mother and father disowned him when he told them he was gay. He lives in the house all alone with no friends or family to care for. And at school he's nothing but a piece of dust to everyone. James is a very quite and very shy so he doesn't talk to anyone. Dylan and Kevin Thomas are twins that just move into town. They are very sweet and kind boys who are gay, since new town, new homes means new school and guess they are going to James's school. Sylvia Zipper is a 14 year old Jewish girl living in Poland during the Holocaust. She hides from the Nazis with her large family in the attic of generous Mrs. Simon, however the small cramped space is too much for Sylvia. With her older sister Cassie in tow, Sylvia sneaks out into the woods to simply be able to breathe in fresh air. Sylvia manages to hide from the Nazis in the bushes, but she sees her older sister get dragged away in front if her eyes, and there's nothing she can do about it.
