"Are you going to kiss me or are you just gonna stare?" As if he needed the encouragement, he slams his mouth down on mine in a frenzy, his hands moving from the counter to my thighs and pressing himself against me completely. I try and overcome him in the kiss but he wins, his tongue controlling mine in a way I've never experienced before. I'm used to being in charge so it's nice to have someone take control of me for once. He picks me up, his fingertips biting my ass as he carries us back upstairs. He doesn't break the kiss even while moving and I don't find myself worried that he's going to drop me, I've never trusted anyone this much before and it feels good. I pull away from the kiss to start nibbling just below his ear, making his breaths come out sharper as he carries me to the bedroom. We end up in one of my spare rooms instead of my room but I don't even care, I just want him wherever I can get him. He drops me onto the bed with me still latched on his neck as he groans against my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I pull his cut off as his hands start creeping under my shirt, brushing against the underside of my breasts while he bites down on my bottom lip. I almost rip his shirt in my desperation to reach his skin and I sigh in relief when my hands touch the warm skin I've been thinking of more than I should've been. He is distracted by my mouth so I take the opportunity to explore the muscle in his chest and out towards his biceps where it curls gorgeously. I can only think about sinking my teeth into it so I pull out of the kiss and start licking across the surface, his hand tightens in my hair as I bite down on his shoulder.

"That's Rubble." I tune back into the conversation, having missed the entire thing, I think introductions were made but I got bored so. "He's the biggest pain in the ass when his best friend isn't here so be warned." Saviour teases and my jaw drops. "Excuse you? I am easily the best person here to hang out with." "Easily the most delusional person to hang out with." Marielle retorts and I gasp dramatically. "I am offended Mari, what have I ever done to deserve such treatment? I am a delight! A pure and utter delight." "You've been playing Tetris for seven hours." Lexie points out and I look at the clock in surprise. "Damn, really? I lost way too much time, hey do you think if I close my eyes I'll just see the bricks?" Juniper laughs at that, along with the others, and it's a welcome sound. A beautiful one, really. "Probably, I'm surprised you haven't gone blind." Cassidy tells me and I shake my head. Me too, Cass, me too.

It's literally four in the morning but Mark said we couldn't go to sleep without watching all three of them and whenever my eyes drooped for more than two seconds, he woke me up again. Leo moves first and I whine as my body is exposed to the freezing cold air. He lifts me gently and I wrap around him like a koala bear, he's warm and the air is cold. "The one on the right is yours, Martha took your bags up for you." Leo holds me effortlessly and carries me all the way to the bedroom, I'm almost lulled to sleep by the slow sway of his body. "Don't you want to put your pyjamas on?" He asks me as I refuse to let go of him when we get to the room. I'm not exactly wearing comfy clothes but I'm so tired. "Floss, you're gonna regret it later." "I know, you're just comfy." I force myself to slide off of him and he kisses my head when I pout at him. I pick up my bag and wander into the bathroom to wash my face and refresh my hair before changing into a pair of leggings and a loose long-sleeve top. I check with Leo if I can come in just in case he's changing before crawling into the warm cotton bed. He drops in next to me with a groan, his back probably hurts from sitting in awkward positions for the last few hours. I curl into his side with my head on his chest and his arms wrapped tightly around me. I could sleep like this more often.

I find Riley leant against the driver's side door of her car with a cigarette in her mouth. I step up closer to her, not even giving a shit that we haven't had an actual conversation. I take the cigarette for myself and she allows me to, her eyes gliding over me lustfully. Okay, as I said, I can find no faults with doing this. As I smoke the cigarette, her hands reach out to touch my chest, her pointer finger dragging down to rest against my belt. She latches onto it and yanks me closer to her, my entire body crushing her to the car. She then gets into her car and fucks off, after giving me the look. We get to her apartment in less than ten minutes and it's my turn to slam her against the wall outside her door. I smash my lips down on hers and she curves into me, immediately opening her mouth and diving her tongue into mine.

"Hey B..." I start and he hums in reply, just staring at me with adoration and I find the courage in myself to finish my sentence. "Can you do something for me?" "Anything." He promises, without even knowing what I'm going to ask of him. Jesus, this man is literally going to be the death of me. If so, it'll be a good death indeed. "Kiss me." He doesn't need any more prompting than that. Within milliseconds, his lips are pressed against mine in a gentle caress. His hands move to cup my neck while mine tighten on his shirt, trying to anchor myself as he kisses me slowly and languidly. I could definitely die happy now. His lips are like soft velvet and his hands are coarse from riding but they hold me like I'm the most important thing in the world. He tastes like coffee and smells like wood smoke, a heady combination that has me weak in the knees.

I know he's followed me when the door shuts and locks behind me. His breath is on my ear before I can even think about anything and I relax against him as his teeth nip at the lobe. He reaches around me to start the shower and starts undoing my belt without even looking at what he's doing. He's leaving hickeys up my neck and almost rips my shirt in an effort to get it off me. I spin around once it's off and smirk at the lust in his eyes. I push him back against the door and press close enough to him to feel everything, every breath and every rumble of his chest as he hums in approval. "Are you going to keep teasing me, mi vida?" (my life) I shiver at his tone and lean forward, close enough for our lips to brush. "This is not teasing, love." My hand drifts up his torso to wrap around his neck and I turn his head to return the favour, leaving red hickeys and bite marks as he grinds against me. The room starts to steam up as the water reaches the right temperature and I tug his shirt off and yank my belt off along with my jeans and boxers. I back up into the shower and his eyes trail me heatedly, I can almost feel his look on me and I savour the feeling as I step under the water and slick my hair back. He removes the last of his clothes and drifts over to me, his eyes not leaving mine for a second. He reaches for me and slams his lips down on mine viciously, his teeth nipping and pulling while his tongue soothes the pain. He pulls my hair back to release himself from the kiss and starts kissing down the column of my neck to my collarbone where he leaves another mark. His grip is tight enough to leave bruises and I relish in the pleasure pain he gives me as he completely numbs my senses to everything but him.

Is age really just nothing but a number? It depends on who you ask. Sayer Sayer Hayes was rocking the hell out of his adult life. At thirty-five, he'd given up on apartments and was finally a homeowner and was proud of it. He was also one of Silias County's best firefighters, and he was one of the best they had. With a great family, two annoying but loyal brothers, and a satisfying career, Sayer had it made. The man really had nothing to complain about. Monroe Monroe Stewart was kind of rocking the hell out of her adult life. Knocking on forty's door, she had her own home but that was a result of her divorce. As far as her career was concerned, her promotion to one of Silias County's building inspectors had come just in time to start the new phase of her life. Though she's had to adjust to a lot of changes, she was doing her best to welcome the new changes. When age is just a number... When Sayer overhears Monroe's ex-husband accuse her of still pining over him, Sayer steps in and lies his ass off, hoping Monroe will just go with it. Hoping that the hero role will win him some points, all he needs is to get his foot in the door to finally make Monroe Stewart his. When Monroe's ex-husband accuses her of still pining over him, she's too stunned by his audacity to stop Sayer Hayes from jumping into the mess of her dead marriage. Letting pride decide for her, she follows her sexy neighbor's lead, not suspecting that he has ulterior motives in mind. Between a crappy ex-husband, an emotional teenage daughter, a conniving co-worker, a matchmaking best friend, two idiot brothers, a station full of firefighters, a nosey neighbor, and a wedding-planning fireman whose determination rivals Stalin, Sayer and Monroe have their work cut out for them. NOTE: This book contains adult language, adult situations, explicit sexual encounters, and an out-of-control wedding planner. If sensitive to any of the aforementioned issues, please do not purchase.
