Varian's father was killed by an infamous pirate named Ruby Scourge. Seeking revenge, Varian forms his own crew to go and look for her but runs into a snag when a young and flirtatious Captain Hugo and his crew intercept his ship, stealing something essential to his revenge plan. Will the two pirate captains be able to put aside their rivalry and team up to stop Ruby Scourge once and for all? Note: this story was almost named Swashbuckling Bros with Benefits. Let that sink in.

A fighter pilot named Hugo, barely makes it out of a tough spot, crash landing into the fields of some remote farm country. The brilliant engineer and farm boy, Varian, finds the wreckage and the pilot. Offering to fix the plane, he hopes Hugo will agree to bring him along once the aircraft is fixed. Varian wants more than anything to prove himself in the world outside his quiet little town, but there's so much more to Hugo than he could ever imagine, not all things good.

UPDATE: As of right now, I won't be writing anymore of this. I might come back to it eventually but I'm pretty uninspired VAT7K-wise and kinda in general. This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way. I'll likely take a lot of inspiration from other fans too and I think that's what's great about vat7k, we all inspire each other with our ideas! :) This is probably gonna be a long one, hope you enjoy!!
