Nathan Hickey was a quiet and wealthy bachelor. As he turned eighteen, he would become an heir to a fortune, the envy of his peers. At a young age, he was diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder, having no emotional connection to his parents while beginning an unhealthy attachment to a doll collection, which he grew over eight years. His mother was always an obedient one, while his father stood a harsh man, never condoning Nathan's obsession. His father, Warren, would eventually destroy part of his collection, sending Nathan on a downward spiral. His parents would pay the ultimate price with their lives, and five victims would become his new dolls, his live collection.

Bexley Valentino, an innocent seventeen year old, who doesn't believe in monsters, realizes just how important of a man Cousin Ignominy is. After seeing his show, and wallowing in her broken heart for the clown, she soon finds herself trying to break him out. She wants to show him how important it is to feel.
