« Forgive me, for all the things I did but mostly for the ones I did not. » - Francis Abernathy, The Secret History by Donna Tartt. One-shot book for Francis Abernathy and Richard Papen. !! I do not own any of the characters !! Extra notes that I wanted to add: You thought this was going to be a book where Richard is the oh-so-perfect boyfriend and doesn't use the inner monologue that much? Well, if that's so, you're WRONG. His inner monologue is very annoying, just like in the actual book, because we need an #edgy Richard. He also romanticises everything (just like he does in the book) because I do that too and I want to use it as an opportunity to romanticise everything! Did you also think I was going to make Francis full of confidence, with stong will, self respect and no trauma dumps? You're WRONG AGAIN. He is an INFP, I wrote him as an INFP (derogatory). He is going to cry at least once in this book because I love the hurt/comfort/hurt/comfort trope!!

With a hole in the roof and a teacher out of town, Richard has to get saved by dear old Henry for winter break- Same as how the story goes. However, things go a bit differently than expected when going home with Henry. - Although a bit for shipping, this is mostly to just build upon their character dynamic in general! I really loved that The Secret History wasn't really about romance, so don't expect anything overly mushy! Although, it's in character, it is a cannon divergent retelling which starts after Henry saves Richard from being a frozen popsicle

" The museum building was large and elegant. It jutted out of the ground like some grand hindrance in a hero's journey. The pillars loomed large and white against the background of dark clouds and the wide marble steps spread intimidatingly up into the building like the tongue of a hungry predator. It was all together haughty and self-assured that once I entered the immaculate doors that I might not ever leave."
