Benjamin Washington. A 17 year old boy who recently got kicked out of his parent's home. Now living with his best friend Usnavi and Usnavi's cousin Sonny, he tries to get his life back on track. He hates high school more than anything, but there is one thing he doesn't hate about it: Nina Rosario. A 17 year old girl who loves to sing and write. Her parents love her and give her anything she has ever wanted. She has it all. Can Benny keep up his schoolwork, social life, love life, and family problems? Can Nina try to prove that there's a lot more to her life than her parents and her exemplary work?

So apparently college people think it's ok to put female students with male students in dorms against their free will. That situation is not fun. Especially when your new dorm mate is the biggest fuck boy in the school.

Nina is now a senior in college. Her last night of summer vacation however, changes everything between her and boyfriend Benny as they become one. Camila and Kevin decide to foster a young Latina who's parents have been deported back to the Dominican Republic. Carla and Daniela have taken their relationship to the next level, telling el barrio. Usnavi and Vanessa have moved in together due to a 'problem'. But maybe it'll bring them closer to each other and Sonny.

Benny is woken up in the middle of the night by an ex-girlfriend coming to give him a gift. Little did he know that this gift would change his life and possibly his relationship with his girlfriend, Nina. In the Heights fanfic some of it's based off the workshop version (mainly Benny's backstory because the Broadway version doesn't give a whole lot of information).

Summary: An eleven-year-old Nina Rosario strikes up an unlikely friendship with Benny, the kid her dad is teaching how to drive. Through their brief encounters over the years, they learn that sometimes it takes someone who is your polar opposite to remind you of who you really are. Notes: The story begins when Nina is 11 and Benny is 16. It will most likely cover the events of the play and possibly beyond.
