Finally having escaped the house of her abusive boyfriend, Rose Abbott runs into the woods with no plan but never going back or getting hurt ever again. As she runs through the woods she comes across a house where she meets the sarcastic witch Lenore Synn and her pet Crow named Poe. Lenore takes Rose in and teaches her what she wants to know about her craft.
