Battle for Dream Island: Official Character Guide is an American children's book published by Scholastic in 2019 and is BFDI's first published book. It was first discovered in Scholastic's book flyers in the end of August to the beginning of September 2019, and was officially confirmed by Michael Huang[1] and Satomi Hinatsu[2] on the same day. The book was written by Satomi, Cary Huang, and a Scholastic employee. It is currently not available outside of the United States and is only available in English and Spanish.

In a twisted alternate universe, the BFDI contestants are no longer colorful individuals living freely in an island, simply participating in a weird game show full of zany obstacles, friendships, and intense, but in the end of the day silly antics run by some odd folks. Here, the cast are now artificially grown lab rats, trapped inside a hellish laboratory where they are all put through painful and rancid experiments, ran by extraterrestrial scientists hellbent on finding out which one of these unfortunate souls are going to be- "The DreaMaker." (CONTENT WARNING: THIS FAN FICTION CONTAINS LARGE AMOUNTS OF GORE, PROFANITY, AND GENERAL DARK THEMES. VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.)

The world is being ripped apart at it's seams, and it's up to 10 assigned gods to see the mortal plane back together. But all of them are children or just barely adults... And one of the gods is not as they seem...
