To maintain stability, the faction leaders decide to return to the faction system. Because of this, the sixteen-year-olds that chose that year are sent back to their former factions for nine months. Tris falls into a state of depression after the war and her impromptu breakup that occurred at the end of it, and returning back to Abnegation--to the same house as her traitor brother--doesn't help. Tobias remains in Dauntless, but while he isn't exactly despondent, he does feel out of place. He doesn't fit in and cannot go on with normal life after everything that happened. Then, Choosing Day arrives. And history definitely does not repeat itself when Tris goes through the initiation process with her old friends and enemies, her ex-boyfriend, and the new sixteen-year-olds, while citizens of Chicago are mysteriously dying. This story is a different ending to Allegiant. In this story, Tris never got shot and all the people who died aren't dead. Al is still dead though because I don't like him. Tris and Tobias have a perfect life. They have a healthy relationship and they train initiates together. Their life can't get better! But can it get worse? Tris Prior and Four Eaton are the same in every possible way, but they are also the exact opposites. Four Eaton is what you would call the cliche bad boy, the rich kid and the player, but remember to never judge a book by it's cover. Tris Prior is not just rich, but she is also the golden girl. Her parents and brother cherish Tris with love. She has many friends and is well known around school, just like Four. Two teenagers, two families and a strong feeling of hatred towards each other. When the dauntless coals sizzled at the ceremony, Tris didn't know that her choice of becoming Dauntless would be one of the best things to ever happen to her. She meets Tobias, yet she has know clue that the love of her life was standing right in front of her. This is Divergent, without the war. This leaves off at the ceremony for all the Dauntless initiates that made it through initiation. Tris has finished initiation and can finally have a nice, normal life with Tobias. But things will stop her. People, accidents, anything you could think of. Of course she just turns to her brave side and stays with Tobias, but she won't be the only one that needs bravery.
