He, unlike most borrowers, was raised to not be afraid of the humans, with Ryu being his best friend. When Rai is about to turn 14, his uncle decides that he has to learn the roots of his race, so his cousin, the 16 years old borrower Zin, tries to show him how to be a normal borrower.
