Rory Jacques has spent most of her life in the Prescott house. Best friends with Grace Prescott since childhood, she's practically family - skating on backyard rinks, sitting at the Prescott dinner table, growing up alongside Grace and her older sister. Maisie Prescott has always known exactly who Rory is. The loud one. The fearless one. The girl everyone falls a little bit in love with. But after time apart, Rory shows up again - older, sharper, impossible to ignore. And suddenly the way she looks at Maisie feels different. Too long. Too intense. Too dangerous. Because some lines should never be crossed. Especially when it's your best friend's sister.

Sometimes we're not even fully aware of how similar hate and love really are. How closely they sit together, how thin the line is between them. One wrong word, one wrong choice, one moment of fear or anger, and you cross it without even realizing you've done so. That's how it had alwags been with Casey Miller and Olivia Lordan. They didn't hate each other for no reason. There were reasons, plenty of them, actually. Old wounds that never healed right, memories that calcified instead of fading, words spoken too young and carried for too long. But were those reasons valid enough? That was the question no one ever asked out loud. Because validity is subjective. Pain doesn't measure itself against intent. Trauma doesn't care how old you were, or what you meant to do. It just exists, heavy and unrelenting, shaping you whether you want it to or not. Everyone has flaws. Everyone has demons they fight in private. Some people turn inward and rot quietly. Some people explode. Some people run. Some people stay and harden. None of it is clean, and none of it is fair. And maybe that was the cruelest part for them. Not the hate. Not the anger. Not even the silence. But the fact that, once upon a time, it had been love, or something dangerously close to it, and that was what made everything else hurt so much more.

This book may NOT be reproduced, reposted, copied, or translated in any way unless you receive permission directly from the author. Camille Rousseau is used to the pressure. As the daughter of a legendary figure skater, she's spent her entire life striving to be the best-pushing herself harder, faster, and farther. But when she's forced to share the ice with Aurora Bennett, Camille's world is turned upside down. Aurora doesn't just glide on the ice; she owns it. Confident, competitive, and effortlessly talented, Aurora is everything Camille hates-everything Camille fears she'll never be. The two are rivals, both driven by the weight of family expectations and their burning need to be the top athlete. But when fate and the rink force them into close quarters, the animosity between them begins to shift into something neither of them can control. Trapped together, their forced proximity ignites a firestorm of tension. Camille can't decide if she wants to throttle Aurora or kiss her. Aurora's confidence rattles Camille's composure, and every touch on the ice sends sparks flying. But as they push each other to new limits, they find that their rivalry is just the beginning of something much deeper, more complicated-and far more dangerous to their hearts.
