After Adrien had been spending quite a lot of time around Kagami, Marinette assumes they're dating, giving up any hope she had for them to be together. Chat noir and Marinette started getting closer, watching movies and spending time together alone, giving Marinette someone else to turn to. Who else other than her dear partner? Someone she trusted completely. Without thinking she asks, "Can I kiss you?" This awkward yet enticing question unleashed a whole new beginning for Marinette and Chat noir, as they begin dating.
