After the untimely death of her mother, Jennifer, 16-year-old Chloe Jones hitchhikes to Sacramento, California, to search for her father. Upon arriving, she learned many things, but there were still many unanswered questions. He wasn't even aware of Chloe's existence until she appeared unannounced on his doorstep. Although Chloe grew up without him, she wasn't alone. From the day Chloe was born, she was never alone as she grew up in a scientific institute where her mother underwent experiments unbeknownst to the fact that she was pregnant then. After Chloe turned five, her mother escaped the institution, taking Chloe with her. They've been searching for her ever since, waiting for the right moment to strike when she'd be alone and in her most vulnerable state, which was precisely how Chloe felt as she stood in front of the bathroom mirror in her new temporary home. Luckily, she only needed a place to stay until she turned eighteen and could care for herself without anyone asking questions. Over time, Chloe adjusted to her new life as she devised strategies for avoiding the exposure of her identity before beginning her senior year at a new school with fresh faces and no strings attached, never expecting to connect with a few of her peers. Just as things felt like they were going great, everything suddenly went south. One wrong decision was all it took for everything to come crashing down like a dam breaking and releasing pure destructive chaos in its wake. When Chloe's secret accidentally surfaced, those searching for her were able to finally locate her after receiving help from an "anonymous" tipster. They were determined to capture her one way or another, no matter the stakes. Chloe felt like the world was closing in on her, torn between turning herself in or choosing to fight back. With some help from friends she made along the way, plus some training, she might be able to save herself and the girl they wrongfully took in her place.

Seven years flew by as Kira watched everyone else from afar while training her angels for battle. Ceciellia and her coven continued to run a private magic school with the help of Alice and the others, expanding the diversity of their army and training recruits. Everyone played a role and had their pieces to contribute to the cause, teaching different types of classes to various creatures so that they could learn to use the gifts they were either born with or given later on. When Alice and Tate weren't teaching at the school, they were off doing what they did best: hunting demons that managed to slip through the cracks. Anna, Luna, Rain, and Claire continued their research to create more cures for different creatures while teaching and caring for the unique students of the school. Alex, Damon, and Caleb also taught classes and maintained security and safety for those who lived at the house containing a portal door leading to the magic school and the students living in its dorms. The special children, either born from Lucifer and Kira's bloodlines or those with ancestors who passed down pieces of Lucifer's shattered soul, had grown up, and after turning 18, they'd stopped aging physically. Just like their parents, they also continued to face obstacles of their own over the years, as with every passing year, their powers grew stronger as they trained how to use them. Though they were not the only ones. Lucifer was getting closer; they were getting closer. Kira could feel it, and so could Alice and Tara. It's almost like that strange feeling where a person feels as if someone is standing behind them, but when they turn around, no one is there. The intensity of those feelings crept closer and stronger with each passing year. It was only a matter of time before Hell's gates would open, and once more, Lucifer would come for Kira, as well as everyone and everything she loved, including Tara, Alice, and anyone standing in his way.
