Even though I'm a mess and I still don't think I'm good enough for him, I want to date him. He was a content 24 year old, rooming with his fraternal twin brother Jesse. They literally could not be more different. Jesse is blonde, confident and straightforward; Chase is brunette, shy and innocent. But when tragedy strikes, Chase becomes a shell of the man he once was and Jesse is determined to protect his twin and help him heal. However, will it be at the cost of Jesse's own blossoming love life? Will Chase actually let Jesse help him? It's 1946, San Francisco. A year after the end of World War II. Kelly Rossi does something dumb. No surprise there. Just one of a million dumb things. But this one's a doozy. He's shipped north and east to barren Modoc County in California. Too young to go to real jail, Kelly ends up at ... reform school. Well, you could call it that. It's really just a few buildings out in the middle of nowhere filled with angry, confused and sad boys. Kelly's the kind of fellow who knows how to make his own luck. How to take a bad hand and still win big. His plan is to ride out his two years and do as little as possible. Skate by, don't make waves. Lay low. All of that changes.... when he meets his bunkmate, a sullen, silent boy named Lee Clarke. Kelly can't resist a mystery. He has to find out what makes Lee tick, why he's locked up, and if maybe, just maybe, he has a secret in common with Kelly. A terrible secret. A secret that might help them become friends. Or even...something more. Ha!!! This is my reform school trope book. I've planned it for a very long time. Finally ready to get going. Hope you enjoy the ride! (sorry)

Caleb was lost and had been for as long as he could remember. He tried to walk the path his parents wanted, but he couldn't see it through the darkness. With his brothers away for college everything became worse. The once warm home felt ice cold, the halls devoid of sound and his life devoid of colour. Then he bumped into Lucas. His long time neighbour who he was certain only saw him as his best friends little brother. Until he didn't. Until Lucas inserted himself further into Caleb's life, getting closer to him than anyone had ever been. Too close. Or maybe that's just what Caleb needed, someone to see more than what was on the surface. Maybe the love he sought was right there in front if him, and so was the help he needed. --- *This is a bxb that deals with sensitive themes, religion, and mature subjects. Read with care. It's also a really. really slow burn.* Slow updated, but still updating (promise)! No AI was involved at any point in the writing of this story.

I've changed a lot since writing it and would ask that anyone who reads it keeps in mind that I've adapted since then. Please do not use this story as a way to judge my writing style because I've come a long way since then, this is just my first story I'll be publishing here.
