Kageyama Tobio learned to "love" by watching.
Oikawa tooru, is the standard of a perfect setter he fears he cannot reach. The setter who shaped his goals, and devotion...before he understood what those feelings really even meant. What began as admiration becomes something Kageyama chooses to carry without being chosen.
Yet Oikawa notices the stare, it bothers him, to the gut extent.
To be watched like that- or to be read before he was ready, feels to much like the way he once looked at someone else. So he continues to push the ravenette away with rivalry, and distance, per usual.
Years later, they meet again as professionals on opposite Olympic teams. Kageyama no longer chases, not because he stopped loving Oikawa...but because he learned how to carry the burden of love without words and actions.
This time, it is Oikawa who reaches, and decides, whether this form of love from his nemesis is finally to stay for.
"Once more."
