Skinchanger are rare. None-mammalian shifting ones even more so - cast out by their own kin for their cold blooded nature and the therefore rumoured lack of empathy. They had gone extinct long before the enslavement of the Skinchangers through the orcs under the lead of Azog, the defiler. ... Or are they? Warning: Contains some storyline changes! Enjoy!

After being unexpectedly dumped the night of her firm's Christmas party, thoroughly modern Noelle James decides to skip the festivities and go for a walk along Fifth Avenue. The last thing she expected to happen was to be accosted by a man dressed in all fur and leather carrying a lethal-looking sword and asking for her to help him find his way back to Mirkwood. As in, The Hobbit Mirkwood. But not the novel, the movie. Thorin Oakenshield has no idea how he ended up in modern day New York City, and no idea how to get back to where he belongs. The last thing he remembers is becoming disoriented while wandering through the enchanted forest at Mirkwood. He stumbled forward and out of his world into one wholly foreign to him. And now he has to rely on this one woman to help him. And neither one of them was at all prepared for things not quite going as they were supposed to...

"Heart of the Mountain" In the shadow of stone, fire, and fate - love rises like dawn. When Xara, the last-born of a vanished mage lineage, steps into the halls of Erebor on the eve of Durin's Day, she expects politics, mistrust, and the cold indifference of kings. What she doesn't expect is Thorin Oakenshield - proud, scarred, and bound by duty - to look at her as though she's the first warmth he's ever known. As orcish threats loom and old wounds stir, what begins as cautious alliance grows into a bond that defies blood and battle. But love between king and mage was never written in prophecy. Shadows gather. A bounty rises. And the mountain's heart is at stake. Torn between protecting his people and claiming the woman who's set his soul ablaze, Thorin must decide: will he be a king of stone... or a man of fire? But when blades fall and fate calls, Xara will give everything to shield the one who taught her the meaning of home. Their love was forged in battle, bound by magic, and crowned by the birth of a son - the heir to a legacy shaped by courage, sacrifice, and a devotion stronger than mithril.

Her family gave shelter to a band of weary travelers. A meal by the fire, a kindness freely given - nothing more. But five years later, Thorin Oakenshield remembers. With Erebor reclaimed and his crown secure, the King Under the Mountain seeks to repay a debt long left unsettled. Yet when he returns to the farmstead, he finds not a warm hearth but ruin - and the woman who once caught his eye standing alone among the ashes of her family's sacrifice. What begins as honor quickly becomes something deeper: laughter breaking through grief, quarrels sparking into kisses, and two stubborn souls learning to fight not against one another, but for each other. As shadows stir once more and Erebor itself calls him home, Thorin must decide if love can be more enduring than stone - and if he dares to claim not just a kingdom, but the heart that has been his all along. A tale of memory, fire, and fate - where debts are paid not in gold, but in love and when love blooms promise is kept.

Marked by the forest. Cursed by fire. Hunted by her own kind. Once, Laufey was a warrior of Mirkwood, a trusted guard of King Thranduil, fighting alongside her kin in a desperate war against the dragons of the North. But when victory demanded a terrible price, she sacrificed everything-her home, her people, and even her very nature-to bind a great and terrible power within herself. Branded with a sigil that sears her soul, she has spent years wandering the wilds, neither elf nor warrior, forever an outcast. When Gandalf the Grey offers her a place in an unlikely company of dwarves, Laufey intends to keep her distance. But the road to reclaim Erebor is paved with dangers both known and unknown, and despite her instincts, she finds herself drawn to the stubborn, brooding king who leads them. Thorin Oakenshield is everything she should distrust-proud, sharp-tongued, and full of hatred for elves. And yet, as the journey tests them both, their fates intertwine in ways neither of them could have foreseen. But secrets are not so easily buried, and the power Laufey carries within her is not so easily tamed. When old enemies rise and the fires of war are kindled once more, she will have to make a choice: to keep running from the monster she fears she has become-or to stand and fight, even if it means revealing the truth that could cost her everything.

The Hobbit Fanfiction Bofur x OC It was hard to imagine Bofur taking anything seriously. He was the optimistic one of the Company, the one always joking around, the one singing and dancing on tables to lighten the mood. That was why no one noticed his change of character when he met the joyful Periwinkle, the only female member in the Company. He went out of his way to make her smile and laugh, and no one found that out of the ordinary since, well, it was Bofur. And while he was keeping his joyful composure, there was a sliver of fear and grief that the lass would not return his feelings, since who would ever fall for an ordinary dwarf?

🥇#1 in Thorin 4/10/2024 The reader joins the company on the quest to reclaim the dwarven homeland of Erebor. It becomes much more problematic than your usual adventure wherein the reader is a skin changer with alpha blood that allows her to shift into any creature; all she has to do is merely look at the animal she wants to turn into. Along with this comes soul bound mates-that are a natural thing for skin changers, likewise for the dwarves it is finding their one. How will Thorin behave when he discovers his one in the powerful skin changer? He says he'll wait till the quest is over but can he make it that long? For the reader, it's a whole new journey in more ways than one. Neither parties want to give up their mate as they are only blessed with just one in a lifetime. The reader faces a multitude of questions one of them being what were to happen if she looked up the dragon, Smaug? Read to learn their story... **MATURE READERS ONLY** 18+ Only
