Five years ago, Aaliyah Bennett left the little Jamaican community she called home.
Now, at sixteen, she's back.
She expects familiar faces, Sunday church services, old memories, and a community that hasn't changed much.
What she doesn't expect is Jahmar Campbell.
At seventeen, Jah is nothing like the boy she remembers. While his parents are respected church people, Jah spends most of his time on the block, surrounded by the wrong crowd and living a life his parents would never approve of.
When he sees Aaliyah walking past the block on an errand for her mother, he doesn't even recognize her at first.
But when his bredrin reminds him exactly who she is, Jah can't seem to stop thinking about the girl who came back into his life.
Then Sunday comes, and his mother drags him to church.
That's when Aaliyah sees him too.
Two childhood friends.
Five years apart.
Two completely different lives.
And neither of them knows just how much is about to change.
Because sometimes, coming back home doesn't mean returning to the life you left behind.
Sometimes, it means finding your way back to someone.
BACK TO YOU
