After four years of Riley and Lucas being together, Riley finds out that Maya and Lucas have been together behind her back. She becomes upset and shuts everyone out. Afterwards, she eventually finds out that she has a werewolf gene from her mom's side. One day she gets into a car crash and she accidentally killed someone in the car, triggering her werewolf gene. She kept it a secret. However, after her graduation everyone becomes curious on where Riley goes every full moon, so they follow her and see her turn into a wolf. Cory and Topanga kick her out, appalled with her for triggering her werewolf curse. She packs all her things and leaves. Later on, she realizes since she's a werewolf, she's a part of a pack. A family. So she searches for them. She finds out a professor in Mystic Falls can help her and she goes to see him and there she Meets The Originals.
