Being trapped in a small cellar might seem terrifying to some but let me tell you, it does have it perks. You have time to ponder ideas. How to escape. How to get home. Your body adjusts to the darkness. Your bones change shape to be able to fit in the small space. But over time, you slowly give you trying to escape and go back to a family how didn't even try to look for you. You come to affect the fact that you will be here forever. In that dark cellar. The only thing that helped was the dim light that was in a small bathroom that held a small shower, toilet and sink. I'm Alexander. I don't remember my family. The rest of my name. My home. My school. How long I've been here. What I do remember is the last day that I was outside. It was the only thing that I could call mine. Actually mine. A single memory that I cherished and hated. I had been running around the playground with my mother, who's face I don't remember, chasing after my father, who's face I also don't remember. The sky was a deep blue with white fluffy clouds. The leaves of the trees swayed with the soft wind. The sweet smell of summer. The sound of bees buzzing. A woman and man standing near the sidewalk, watching. She waved me over as the man went over to my family and asked did I want to go see her puppy. I remember looking back at my parents, who had their backs turned away, chatting with that man. I nodded my head yes and took the hand that she held out of me. I walked to the car that was parked near the sidewalk and she opened the door. I looked at her before climbing into the car. She told me it was okay. That I was going to be part of her family now. I thought it would have been okay. My parents knew them. I thought it was okay to go with her. I thought it was okay to get in that car. But you can never trust anyone that you thought you knew. Never.
