Thoron is returning home after his Uncle Bubo sent him on a five-year "character-building" journey. He felt he was unable to find what his wizard uncle sent him out to find, meaning a clue to his past. When he discovers his uncle hadn't been home in some time, he reluctantly decides to continue his adventure. He is plagued by nightmares of the past, the constant struggle with the beast within, the desire to find himself and keep everyone else around him safe. Little does he know about the part he will play in a young girl's destiny...

Basically, I wanted to take all of these influences--Carmilla, Dungeons & Dragons, Sesame Street--and turn them into a vampire story. Now that I've done that, there are other creatures that I want to write about. Thus, THE OLD MADE NEW.
