Reluctantly, he turns to Lucifer, who steps in-not out of kindness, but at the insistence of his daughter, eager for the two to mend their strained relationship. What begins as a reluctant truce soon shifts as Lucifer finds himself drawn to Alastor's wit, charm, and unyielding spirit. The battle was won. The angels have fled back upward. Everything is as it was again... For all but Alastor, as his pride keeps him from requesting help after his injury at the hands of The First Man. What a shame then that the one who ends up keeping his heart beating is a certain angel - one he almost hates more than death.
